However, Oliveira didn’t seem to have the patience to wait for Conor. He later wished to go against Volkanovski for two titles, in a fight that would probably be held on Australian grounds.

Charles Oliveira challenged Conor McGregor

Charles ‘Do Bronx’ Oliveira has been undefeated for eleven battles in a row. He has a record of 33-8-0. After his last win, Oliveira mentioned that he wanted to go against Conor McGregor.

“Hey, Conor McGregor. Are you coming up or are you going to run away?”, Oliveira said. McGregor responded to Oliveira in no time. His tweet read, “I’m not sure I wish to cut the weight. I am really enjoying being built like a refrigerator. I feel I want to fight at this size just to watch it back lol. But I’d love to fight the Brazilian, 100%! I love Brazil and I’m unbeaten against Brazil. All KO’s. I’ve some thinking to do.”

In regards to the upcoming UFC 280 event, ‘The Notorious’ commented that ‘Do Bronx’ would easily prevail against Khabib Nurmagomedov’s champ, Islam Makhachev. Further, he said that he would knock out Oliviera when asked to predict what would happen if McGregor faced Oliviera. “I’ve KO’d every Brazilian I’ve fought. I KO Charles, too”, McGregor predicted.

Charles Oliveira could not wait to fight Conor McGregor and went for Alexander Volkanovski instead

However, ‘Do Bronx’ did not want to wait to fight ‘The Notorious’. Instead, he opted for a fight against ‘The Great’. Oliveira said that he wanted to fight Alexander Volkanovski for two different belts, in Perth, Australia. He challenged Volkanovski that he’s there if Volkanovski ever decides to move up in the weight category. As was foreseeable, Volkanovski accepted the challenge and said that he’d do it.

Furthermore, Jose Young recently posted a tweet saying, “Oliviera said the plan was to defend his lightweight title against Volkanovski in Rio in January and then challenge for his featherweight title in in November. He then changed his answer and said he’d be open to fighting Volkanovski in Perth for featherweight title in February.”

Additionally, Young wrote, “I believe Charles Oliviera just said he would be open to defending his lightweight title against Alex Volkanovski before fighting him again for his featherweight title.”

Dana White believed Alexander Volkanovski is the next to become ‘Champ-Champ’

The president of UFC, Dana White, has verbally taken Volkanovski to be the next champ.

White said, “So, Volkanovski is one of those guys who has earned the respect of everybody, I would say, by now. I mean, if he wants to move up and challenge somebody at ‘55 or whatever he wants to do. I’m down for whatever he wants.” He’d be open to claiming the ‘Champ-Champ’ title. Although White didn’t mention anything about Oliveira fighting Volkanovski, one can expect it to happen in the near future. Since the Australian bout is going to happen before the Brazil card, it only makes sense that Volkanovski defends his title.
