Aljamain Sterling has become one of the promotion’s top bantamweight fighters. The fighter has defeated many renowned fighters, including Cory Sandhagen, Pedro Munhoz, and Petr Yan. Sterling currently holds the UFC bantamweight title. However, many believe that the fighter doesn’t deserve the belt, and he got it by cheating.

The bantamweight champion hasn’t competed in the UFC since he took on his nemesis Petr Yan at UFC 259. Sterling and Yan fought for the title till the 4th round, and the fight was evidently going in Petr Yan’s favor. In the last minute of the final round, Sterling was on the ground when Yan hit him with an illegal knee, which got him disqualified from the bout.

The fight could go on, but Sterling said he couldn’t continue and walked away with the belt. Many believe he faked this and did it to win the fight, which made him receive a lot of hate from Yan and the fans as well. Both fighters have been taking shots at each other on social media since their fight at UFC 259.

Sterling recently took to Twitter to announce the date for their rematch.

They made the fighter to stay away from UFC action because of a neck injury sustained during his battle against Yan at UFC 259.

He’ll return to face Yan in the first half of 2022, and based on the photos he’s posted on Twitter, he appears to be in terrific shape.

When the UFC presenter confronted the Englishman about his social media exchanges with Petr Yan, Sterling said, “He blocked me.”
