All eyes are on Nate Diaz. The UFC fighter has been requesting the promotion for a fight and it seems they finally have an opponent for him. It is none other than the rising welterweight fighter, Khamzat Chimaev.

‘ESPN MMA’ shared that the UFC is still in the process of finalizing a matchup between the two fighters. The fight is being targeted to headline UFC 279, which takes place on September 29 in Las Vegas.
While Diaz’s fans would love nothing more than to see him fight in the Octagon, they are also worried about him. After all, the Russian-born opponent has never lost a single bout in professional MMA. His recent fight against Gilbert Burns at UFC 273 was a difficult one. He nonetheless managed to win through a unanimous decision.
Hence, people doubt if it is a good matchup for the ‘Stockton Slugger‘. Here’s how fans reacted.

Is Dana White feeding Nate Diaz to the wolves?
In an interview with ‘BT Sport’ last year, the promoter spoke about how Diaz wanted to fight Kamaru Usman– the welterweight champion. As per White, that matchup would have been feeding Diaz to the wolves.
