“Aww Khabib Has a Heart of Gold”: Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Gesture Wins Hearts of MMA Community During His First Visit to Japan

Khabib Nurmagomedov has made a special place for himself in the world of mixed martial arts. Be it UFC, Bellator, RIZIN, or any other fight promotion, Nurmagomedov is a name that is highly respected across the cages and the rings. While he retired as a champion, his status has not gone down as a coach. The respect that he has amassed is nothing short of exceptional. The fighter is in fact known for dominating inside the cage. However, the former UFC champion’s softer side was recently observed during the Bellator MMA versus RIZIN FF crossover event, at Saitama Super Arena, Tokyo. The act of kindness indeed won the hearts of his fans.

In the crossover event, Nurmagomedov’s student, Gadzhi Rabadanov, defeated his opponent, Koji Takeda, with a unanimous decision from the judges. However, the coach went ahead and consoled the Japanese warrior after his loss.

Khabib Nurmagomedov won over the fans with a simple act 

Although the Japanese fighter showed commendable skills against the ex-champion’s disciple, he could not claim the win. Undeniably, Takeda broke into tears with the results. Losing at one’s home ground indeed takes a toll on the mind. However, ‘The Eagle’ seemingly jumped inside the arena and consoled Takeda. 

Nurmagomedov gave the warrior a few words of encouragement and lifted his arm up as though he conquered the fight. Without a doubt, this act of kindness and coach-like behavior won over the netizens and the MMA fans. Furthermore, the act amassed him even more respect from the combat sports community.

The video of the act was captured and posted on social media platforms. Unquestionably, the fans went berserk with nothing but respect and love for the former UFC champion. Moreover, many fans gave his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, respect for raising a son like the ‘Eagle’.

Bellator MMA CEO had a few words for ‘The Eagle’

Scott Coker, CEO of Bellator MMA, spoke about the origin of MMA. He said that it was in Japan, where martial arts combat began and spread throughout the world. However, the head of Bellator MMA was, in fact, happy to see Nurmagomedov in the Bellator MMA vs. RIZIN FF crossover event.

Coker said, “I am happy he was here. I think he was extremely excited and he’ll be talking about Japanese MMA, Rizin, and the show for a long time.”

While his pupils are taking over the arenas, Nurmagomedov has been taking over the world with praiseworthy acts.
