‘Back Down to 245’-Jon Jones Reveals Sparring Footage at New Weight

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones is currently preparing for his move up to the heavyweight division of the UFC. ‘Bones’ is getting his frame right for his new division and is bulking up in the process. He has been sharing footage of him doing some heavy lifting for some time now.

Also, his sparring videos are interesting too as the former champion is adjusting his movements according to his new weight. Movement is one of the key aspects of Jones’s game and is expected to be among his main tools in his new division. He recently shared another video of him sparring and mentioned the drop in his weight due to cardio.

‘Bones’ wrote, “More cardio means more food, back down to 245.”

‘Bones’ looks extremely fluid and resembles the fighter he was at light heavyweight. And fans are buzzing in anticipation to see him in action once he makes his debut in the new division after almost a year of inactivity.

Jones will present something unique in terms of a challenge for the rest of the heavyweight division. Heavyweights are powerful, but not necessarily as technical, and that’s where ‘Bones’ can shine. His technical aspect is unmatched in terms of skill which can be troublesome for the rest of the division.

UFC President Dana White has also confirmed that ‘Bones’ will get a title shot when he steps into the Octagon as a heavyweight for the first time. Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou will rematch at UFC 260 later this month as the former will look to defend his belt. Jones is believed to fight the eventual winner of that contest.

His fluidity and wrestling accolades will be the fundamentals to his success at heavyweight. It remains to be seen if he can become the heavyweight champion too and dominate the division as he did at light-heavyweight.
