The UFC CEO Dana White is steadfast in his approach to capture the Japanese fighter to face Joshua Van. With a career record of 10 victories and 0 defeats, Tsuruya is the winner of Road to UFC Season 2. The fighter made his UFC debut last year with an amazing victory over Carlos Hernandez at UFC 303. The young fighter was booked to face Stewart Nicoll at UFC 312. However, the fight never materialized because Nicoll injured himself.

Tsuruya is a young fighter who is ready to take on his opponents. Meanwhile, Van is a seasoned fighter who currently occupies #15th rank in the flyweight division. The UFC flyweight rankings have been busy in 2024, fighting four times and securing three victories. Most recently, the 23-year-old prospect earned a unanimous decision over Cody Durden at UFC 310 in December. The clash between these two young prospects would be interesting.
