The MMA sphere has been relentlessly buzzing about the prospect of a clash between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall! Jones, the reigning undisputed heavyweight king, returned triumphantly at UFC 309, dispatching Stipe Miocic with a third-round TKO. But he has made it clear that unless a significant financial incentive is involved, he’s not interested in unifying the titles against the young and hungry interim champion.
At the recent UFC Tampa press conference, UFC CEO Dana White fanned the flames of anticipation even further as he stated, “From Day 1, I’ve been confident that Jon Jones would do that fight. I mean even before the [Miocic] fight, I said if he won, there’s no way Jon doesn’t do this fight.” But where would this matchup that has the entire MMA sphere riled up take place? According to Michael Bisping, there’s one location where Aspinall may hold the advantage that can be ruled out!

During an appearance on ESPN’s ‘First Take’, Dana White put it bluntly when asked about what fight he was most looking forward to in 2025. In his trademark manner, the UFC boss stated, “So I get asked this every year, and this year it would be Aspinall-Jones That’s the biggest fight in heavyweight history, and at the end of the day, what my job is, is to give the fans what they want, and that’s what the fans want.”
Fans in the UK, particularly, are salivating at the thought of this clash happening on their home turf. Could you imagine the roar of the crowd in London as Aspinall faces the sport’s most decorated fighter in his own backyard? That’s the question Michael Bisping addressed during a recent livestream on his YouTube channel.
A fan asked in chat, “What’s the likelihood of Aspinall facing Jon in the UK you reckon?” and ‘The Count’ never one to mince words, brought the viewers back to reality by stating, “That is never gonna happen. Never ever going to happen, Jones vs Aspinall is just too big of a fight. So sadly for the UK people, they’re going to have to stay up to the middle of, what is it, 3 4 in the morning.”

Bisping’s reasoning is grounded in cold, hard facts. He envisioned the fight landing at a marquee event like International Fight Week in Las Vegas as he continued, “It’ll be one of the biggest fights of all time, the gate probably sets gate records. It’ll do over at least a million PPV buys, if not two. It’s going to be absolutely huge.”
The former UFC middleweight champion also highlighted Jon Jones’s calculated approach to building hype as he highlighted how ‘Bones’, by initially dismissing Aspinall, may have set the stage for one of the UFC’s most lucrative events! So, while the UK fans and Aspinall may have to swallow a bitter pill of reality, the rest of the MMA sphere is still waiting for any confirmations for the bout. However, Jon Jones recently indicated that his time inside the Octagon is already drawing closer to its end. Moreover, he has a surprising avenue in mind once he’s done with his domination over the UFC!

‘Bones’ lays out his “five-year” plan as he eyes a shift beyond the cage
Since his fight with Stipe Miocic, Jon Jones has been talking about possibly hanging up his gloves soon. But before he bids adieu to the cage, the undisputed heavyweight champion is eyeing a few more fights—and a potential pivot to Hollywood!
During a recent interview while cruising around in a $5 million Bugatti with Alex Gonzalez, ‘Bones’ confessed, “Within the next five years, I wanna win one more fight, maybe even two more fights, and try and make as much money as possible in the UFC. I want to launch off my acting career. I’ve always wanted to be an actor. I think I do pretty good on camera and I’ve done little commercials and things like that”

Jones has already tested the waters by recently appearing on Netflix’s MMA-focused series ‘La Cage’. He was joined by fellow MMA Mount Rushmore candidate, Georges St-Pierre and UFC heavyweight Ciryl Gane. As such, he further shared, “Every time I’m on set, everybody’s like, ‘Bro, it’s hard to believe that you’re a fighter. You know, you conduct yourself just like all of our professional actors.’ So that’s my five-year plan. 10 years from now I just want to be the best dad I can be.”
His eye on Hollywood adds a new twist to his legacy, but before he takes his final bow, it seems there’s a lucrative showdown or two left in him. And as indicated by Michael Bisping, the fight against Tom Aspinall has the potential to check off all the boxes for Jones. So, the question remains, will the UFC and Dana White give the fans what they want in 2025? Where do you see this massive bout taking place? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
