Erin Blanchfield put the women’s flyweight division on notice after submitting former champion Jessica Andrade at UFC Vegas 69. Andrade had accepted the fight against Blanchfield on a week’s notice after Taila Santos pulled out. The 31-year-old was on a three-fight win streak heading into UFC Fight Night 219.

However, the 23-year-old opponent proved too much for her until the bout ended in the second round.

Blanchfield is undefeated in the UFC and came into the fight having won five out of her last five. Her last bout was against the fan favorite Molly McCann at UFC 281. “Cold Blooded” tapped “Metaball” via a Kimura after dominating her on the ground in the very first round.

Fans react to UFC Vegas 69 main event: Andrade vs. Blanchfield

Andrade started off with her signature heavy striking early in the fight. However, Blanchfield met her in the middle of the octagon with punches of her own. The 23-year-old  threw caution to the wind and went after the heavy-handed Andrade and found success on the feet. However, the former champion found her footing later in the round.

Blanchfield succeeded in taking the fight to the ground early in round two. The rest was a formality as she mounted the former champion’s back and forced a tap via a rear naked choke.
