Chechnyan-born Swede Khamzat Chimaev sent a stern message to former UFC double division champion Daniel Cormier after the latter opined he is still not ready to beat the UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.

Chimaev, who has an unblemished 10-0 MMA record, is looked at as a future champion in waiting. Not only has he absolutely demolished all the ranked/unranked UFC fighters he has faced, but he has also sent a clear warning to all the champions as well.

One of the clearest targets in Chimaev‘s crosshairs is the middleweight kingpin Israel Adesanya, who happens to be just one weight class above him. Hence, when his skills were not considered on par to beat ‘The Last Stylebender,’ he had to clear things out.

“@dc_mma for you and your team, it may be a problem, but not for me. If you think he might be a problem for me let him try to stop me. Do you know why I am better than you? because I’m not you, I’m different 🫀,” Chimaev replied to a YouTube video by ‘DC’.

Although the debate was first started by another former UFC dual division champion, Henry Cejudo, Chimaev quickly stepped in to back that he can indeed beat Adesanya with no hesitation.

However, Cormier, who happens to be a staple at the UFC’s commentary table, had a different opinion.

What did Daniel Cormier say regarding Khamzat Chimaev?

In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Daniel Cormier replied to Henry Cejudo calling Khamzat Chimaev vs. Israel Adesanya an ‘easy’ match for the former.

“The first thing Khamzat [Chimaev] does is he pressures. He doesn’t know any other way. The first thing I did was I pressured. First thing Cain Velasquez did was pressure. First thing Khabib [Nurmagomedov] did was pressure. With all that being said, I think Israel Adesanya is a nightmare match-up for every single one of us… Because that pressure leads to you falling into traps that Adesanya sets so beautifully,” Cormier said.

“I don’t know if I like Khamzat’s chances right now. Because I don’t believe that at this point in his career, he’s willing to stay on the outside. He’s a savage, Khamzat Chimaev is the absolute dog, but I don’t know if it’s an absolute dog that’s gonna beat Adesanya,” Cormier continued.
