A few months ago, UFC boss Dana White made the announcement of Conor McGregor coaching ‘The Ultimate Fighter 31’ alongside Michael Chandler. Following the show’s ritual, McGregor and Chandler were supposed to have a fight after TUF 31 ended.

However, things do not look bright for this anticipated fight, at least for now. TUF 31 has already started airing, and the Irishman has not even entered the USADA pool yet. According to the fans’ initial expectations, the former UFC double champ should have officialized his return fight by now. With the world talking about McGregor vs Chandler never happening, UFC veteran Chael Sonnen also gave his opinion about this.

Is Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler really happening?

Sonnen was never the one to be optimistic about this fight. Now, in a new video, the former UFC title challenger has expressed his reservations about the McGregor vs Chandler fight.

In his recent YouTube video, ‘The American Gangster’ highlighted how McGregor has not even entered the USADA testing pool yet, and it is not the smart decision to find fights for him. “Conor’s not in the pool. He does not have a license, he’s not eligible to receive a vowed agreement. Finding matches for Conor McGregor makes you a bit of a weirdo.”

Moreover, his belief that Chandler with not get a fight with the UFC’s first double champ has only strengthened with time. “It’s becoming more and more obvious that Michael Chandler is not going to get the fight that he was promised, which is Conor.”

Is Michael Chandler fighting someone else?

Going further in the video, Sonnen even laid down the possibility of Michael Chandler fighting someone else. “What difference does it make if Chandler was to go out and have somebody else? Do you foresee in your mind a time that Conor McGregor could return?”

Since McGregor is miles away from being eligible to fight, Sonnen believes that ‘Iron Mike’ can entertain this idea. With the Irishman’s recent NBA controversy, more and more minds are starting to believe that McGregor vs Chandler isn’t happening.
