Belal Muhammad has the best case for facing Leon Edwards next for the welterweight title of anyone in the division. The #1 ranked welterweight is on a nine-fight win streak and even put the streak at risk when he took a short-notice fight against Gilbert Burns earlier this year.
With Leon Edwards having confirmed that he will be defending his title at UFC 300, it is almost a certainty that he will face Muhammad next. And it seems that in preparation for the most important fight of his career so far, the Palestinian is pulling out all the stops, even going to Dagestan to train.

Dagestani fighters are famous for their intense training sessions, strict discipline, and spartan methods to prepare themselves for fights. And it seems the Palestinian has decided to sharpen his skills and thinks he can get the best camp possible in the remote Russian region. But fans did not make much of it.

Another felt Edwards and Muhammad would soon be knocked off the top of the mountain by Shavkat Rakhmonov:
“Belal and Leon should just enjoy their time, shavkat is on the way to get His belt. There will be no future for these 2 boring fighters when a killer is on top”

Of course, the bout has not been confirmed yet, and given Muhammad’s unpopularity among fans due to his perceived lackluster fighting style, there is a good chance the UFC may not want him to possibly headline the UFC 300 anniversary mega card.
