Belal Muhammad will fight Leon Edwards in the main event of a UFC Fight Night event this weekend. ‘Remember The Name’ is coming off a win against Dhiego Lima in his last fight. This weekend’s fight will be his first UFC main event.
Muhammad had a special partner in his training camp ahead of his fight with Edwards. It was none other than UFC lightweight champion, Khabib ‘The Eagle’ Nurmagomedov. ‘Remember The Name’ revealed how great of an opportunity and experience it was for him to spend some time with the great Russian legend.
Speaking with The Schmo, Muhammad said, ” Just to have a champion and a guy like that. Who’s the best in the world at what he does. Speak highly of me, even like telling me about my last fight. I’m like, you’re like, Oh, dang, you watched my last fight. It’s just it was just amazing.”

“It was like humbling. It’s cool. To know that legends like that are watching you and they pay attention to you too. And man, just being able to get ideas and work with them a little bit. It’s like priceless,” he added.
‘Remember The Name’ was unwilling to share more details of his meeting with Nurmagomedov. But he also posted the same on his Instagram, talking about how great of an experience it was for him.
Can Belal Muhammad upset Leon Edwards this weekend?
Since his 2019 decision loss to Geoff Neal, Muhammad has picked up 4 consecutive wins over the likes of Curtis Millender, Takashi Sato, Lyman Good, and Dhiego Lima respectively. The Roufusport trainee has a complete fighting style.
But one might argue Muhammad hasn’t fought anyone like ‘Rocky’ yet. Edwards is a cream of the crop contender in the UFC welterweight division. He is currently on an 8-fight winning streak and is looking to get a title shot with a statement performance this weekend.
