Henry Cejudo on the matchup between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad

Henry Cejudo states that one of the greatest tools in Muhammad’s arsenal is his ability to mix the fight. He goes on to state, “He knows how to level change at the right time. He knows when to bait you to eventually go on for a takedown.”

Cejudo also takes the example of how Muhammad won against Sean Brady in their fight, comparing his fight style to Covington. He states, “Colby Covington also does a really good they also do a really, he also does a really good changeup whenever it is that he feels like he fatigues his opponent that he eventually brings them up on their feet, and then they just go to work.”

Triple C acknowledges that Belal Muhammad and Colby Covington are both volume fighters and don’t possess devastating knockout power, unlike some fighters. He then lists out Leon Edwards’ strengths, stating, “Now Leon Edwards, on the other hand, he has power and he is a volume fighter too. But he has more of that dangerous power with that left kick. You know the same kick that he caught Kamaru Usman with.”

The former UFC double champ’s assessment of Edwards is pin point as like he states, Edwards is one of the most complete MMA fighters in the welterweight division. However, he also praises Muhammad by drawing comparisons to his wrestling with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s. Which is where Muhammad went to train for his possible title fight against Edwards.

Belal Muhammad set to train in Dagestan for possible UFC 300 fight

The No. 2 ranked UFC welterweight has reportedly decided to train in Dagestan for an upcoming title fight against Leon Edwards at UFC 300. Nurmagomedov and Muhammad have trained together in the past and the last time Muhammad trained with Nurmagomedov, it made a massive leap in the way Muhammad Fought.

The last time that Belal Muhammad trained with Khabib Nurmagomedov and his team, he had an uncharacteristic finish against Sean Brady. So if Muhammad goes into the fight against Edwards with Nurmagomedov in his corner, he might face a small advantage.
