At the UFC Fight Night: Rodriguez vs. Waterson, UFC fans witnessed a great welterweight co-main event between Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone and Alex Morono. Donald Cerrone was aiming to end his losing streak. However, Alex Morono came out on top early in the fight.
Morono stepped in on short notice for the fight. Yet, he managed to pull off a spectacular TKO victory over ‘Cowboy’. It only took 04:40 minutes for ‘The Great White’ to win this fight via TKO. He landed several brutal combinations in the first round to extend Cerrone’s skid.

I think Cerrone takes this. Morono isnt the most technical striker, but he’s super tough, and his durability is a weapon. Kinda like an Elkins durability. I like that Cerrone has been sparring again, and seemed focused to fight Diego, but still hungry with the opponent change

They won't cut Cerrone. If they don't bench him and he doesn't call it quits and insists on fighting, just put him at 155 against guys like Stephens, Miller, Guida. Who cares if some of those are rematches, you just can't put him against anyone of any real danger.

Morono made a statement by winning against the well-decorated UFC veteran ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone. The short notice nature of the contest made it even more incredible.
Whilst Cerrone could be on his way out of the UFC, ‘The Great White’ will look to build on this win and secure a fight against a top welterweight soon. Considering the quick finish, it won’t be far-fetched if he makes a quick turnaround.
