UFC fighters are some of the top athletes on the planet, but that’s not enough sometimes. The media or the viewer wants every fight to be entertaining, and hence, a lot of the combat athletes receive flak for their fighting style. This might be true for Khabib Nurmagomedov, but it’s definitely wrong for Zabit Magomedsharipov.

The Russians fight in different weight classes and share a very high opinion of each other. Khabib is a fighter who has an unbeaten record in the UFC because of his immense wrestling. On the other hand, Zabit is a striker with flashy skills and tricks.

Continuing with the support, Khabib put a post on Instagram where he can be seen posing with Zabit. He captioned the post, “With best Featherweight in the World.”

He’s not too far away from the truth as a lot of people regard Zabit as one of the greatest to do it in the featherweight division. He is ranked an amazing number 3 in the official UFC rankings behind the former champion Max Holloway and Brian Ortega.

Zabit is also unbeaten in the UFC and is currently on a winning streak of 14 fights now.

Zabit Magomedsharipov and the current situation of the featherweight division

The current featherweight champion is Alexander Volkanovski, and he’s set to fight Brian Ortega in a title fight some time in 2021. The two were also announced as judges for this season’s Ultimate Fighter.

All of this leaves the door open for Zabit to either fight Max Holloway or to go for a title shot against the winner of Brian Ortega vs. Alexander Volkanovski.

The hype for a fight against Max Holloway will be a lot because both of them are the two best strikers in the featherweight division, maybe even in UFC. Fans can only hope for a fight like this to materialize.
