Aljamain Sterling is one of the greatest bantamweights in history, his loss against Sean O’Malley notwithstanding. He is the longest reigning bantamweight champion of all time and was widely expected to win his fight against O’Malley at UFC 292 earlier this month.
His exceptional ground game, it was thought, would be enough to overcome ‘Sugar’, who is known mainly for his excellent striking, timing, and footwork. Although he was not very popular among fans when champion, the grace and humility with which he took the loss has made him more likable to fans. And recently, he shared getting a package from a beverage brand endorsed by Sean O’Malley.
