UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal released a high-production trailer for the launch of ‘Bare Knuckle Fights 01’, presented by ‘Gamebred Fights’. The former UFC title challenger has entered several new avenues since becoming a household name through the UFC. One of his biggest ventures has come through the release of Gamebred Fights where he attempts to showcase street fighting culture.

It’s well known that Jorge Masvidal was a part of the underground street fighting circuit under the late Kimbo Slice. Masvidal cut his teeth on the backyard circuit in Miami’s 305 and his legend has only grown from there. With every passing endeavor, Jorge Masvidal aims to bring a new level of authenticity when speaking on the stories of the streets.

Jorge Masvidal: Chartering a fresh course

In the lead-up to his UFC 261 title fight against Kamaru Usman, Jorge Masvidal revealed he was planning to launch a promotion. Keeping to the aforementioned themes, Masvidal has set up a bare-knuckle promotion called Gamebred FC. The show will debut on June 18 and there’s a level of anticipation being built up.

Veteran bare-knuckle fighter Jason Knight from BKFC will be headlining the card against Charles ‘Crazyhorse’ Bennett. Also, former UFC fighter Brok Weaver will put on the tape and go to war on the card. As it stands, the rest of the card still needs to be filled out, per Bloody Elbow.

Another massive move from Masvidal to raise the profile of the event is the signing of Paige VanZant. However, ’12 Gauge’ won’t be competing on the card. Instead, she will be behind the commentary booth. The former UFC fighter turned BKFC athlete recently made her bare-knuckle debut against Britain Hart.

’12 Gauge’ has taken to her new vocation seriously. She will return to the ring to face Rachael Ostovich in a rematch from their UFC days. However, before that, it will be interesting to see her insights on Gamebred FC. How hyped are you for the event?
