Sean Strickland may be the middleweight champion of the UFC but does that mean he has no weakness? Recently, ‘Tarzan’ appeared on an episode of This Past Week with Theo Von where he ended up having a breakdown. It showed a more vulnerable side of the fighter who keeps up a goofy and outspoken persona. However, this UFC legend didn’t quite enjoy it.

In fact, he put Strickland on blast for showing vulnerability. And while he was at it, also rolled away with Alexander Volkanovsi on similar notes. It begs an important question- is it wrong for fighters to show emotions in the media? Here’s more on the story.

UFC veteran doesn’t appreciate emotions and puts Sean Strickland on blast

Henry Cejudo isn’t happy with Strickland’s recent breakdown. He took to his YouTube channel to mock the middleweight champion for his behavior. He urged the champion to just accept that he’s part of the “game” and can’t go around being vulnerable.

“I hope [Sean Strickland] can come to the consensus to be able to accept the fact that you’re in this game, bro.” He said in a recent video. “Learn how to play, don’t be [mocks crying]. You can’t, man. It’s the same with [alexander] volkanovski. Volkanovski is showing his cards that he goes through anxiety if he doesn’t fight. Like, bro, like what the f**. Keep some of that s** to yourself. The world doesn’t need to know.”

Cejudo is probably speaking of Alexander Volkanovski’s confession after his UFC 294 loss. He told the press that not being in camp for about three months affected him mentally. He felt anxious and put himself in a terrible headspace during that time.

‘The Great’ admitted that perhaps a big reason for accepting the Islam Makhachev fight was to just get back into camp. And that meant going into the battle not being as well prepared as he would have liked to. He made himself go through it all just to get back into the game. Now, he’s defending his title against Ilia Topuria.

Volkanovski defends his title soon

Alexander Volkanovski is slated to defend his featherweight title against Ilia Topuria at UFC 298. After losing his lightweight bout against Makhachev, ‘Volk’ was rather emotional and had a little breakdown in the press. But he promised to keep going and come back stronger.

Now, perhaps is the best time to deliver on that promise. Topuria is a brilliant fighter who has high ambitions. He’s been outspoken about how he wants to defeat Volkanovski so he can move on to fighting Conor McGregor one day.

Meanwhile, McGregor is re-entering the cage within the same weight class as Sean Strickland. Do you think Topuria has a chance at winning? And if he does, will he ever get McGregor next?
