Tsarukyan was responding to a tweet showing Green venting his frustration during the post-fight press conference. According to Green, it was not the headbutt that affected Gordon. He said that he followed Gordon to the ground and landed elbows that disoriented him.

Therefore, Green believed he should have gotten the win and his paycheck. The 36-year-old left the press conference rather quickly after stating he needed his money.

Is Green vs. Tsarukyan the fight to make?

Arman Tsarukyan was all set to fight Renato Moicano on April 29. Unfortunately, Moicano had to pull out of the bout due to an injury. However, the #8 ranked Tsarukyan is keen on staying on the card and saw an opportunity in Green’s recent situation.

Tsarukyan is one of the most highly-rated prospects in the UFC with a 6-2 record in the promotion. His only two losses were against Islam Makhachev and Mateusz Gamrot.

A win against Moicano would have helped him climb up the rankings and angle for the title. He recently called out Beneil Dariush after his UFC 288 bout against Charles Oliveira fell apart owing to Do Bronx’s injury.

As for Green, a win against Tsarukyan would be an impressive feat. Additionally, he can earn the paycheck he missed out on at UFC Vegas 71.
