Arnold Schwarzenegger is arguably the greatest bodybuilder of all time. He has been inspiring fans across the world with his supreme physique and disciplined lifestyle. A UFC veteran, however, destroyed Schwarzenegger‘s bench pressing record, and that too with a good margin. David Lee Abbott bench-pressed a whopping 600lbs in the video that surfaced on YouTube.

Arnold Schwarzenegger had earlier admitted to reaching a highest of 525 lbs in a bench press. ‘Tank’ Abbott’s effort is higher than what Arnold Schwarzenegger did by a solid 75 lbs.

Abbott broke Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s record!

In a video that was uploaded in 2008, Abbott was seen pulling off the incredible feat. The magnitude of the achievement seems humongous if one looks up at Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s bench press routine. Talking to menshealth.com, Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed his heavy lifting routine, he had said “I loved mixing in powerlifting with bodybuilding one day a week,” He added, “I warmed up with 135, then 225, then 275, then 315, 375, then 405, then 455, then 495.”

Schwarzenegger also talked about how he paced his reps to get his body ready for big lifts and more about his time with Italian bodybuilding mate Franco Columbo.

Arnold Schwarzenegger disclosed his failures

Neither Arnold Schwarzenegger nor David Lee Abbott achieved these marvelous feats in a day. Schwarzenegger had earlier talked about how failure is not something to fear. Talking about how he reached 500 lbs, he said, “What you learn is simple: failure is not losing, failure is part of growing. Before I lifted 500 pounds, do you know what I did? I failed to lift 500 pounds, not once, not twice, but tons of times.” That’s one of the best things the gym can teach you. “

Schwarzenegger took this mindset outside the gym. He had a stellar career as a Hollywood actor. He starred in hits like The Terminator series, Commando, and Judgement day. Schwarzenegger also showed his prowess in the field of politics. He served as the Governor of California between 2003 to 2011.

David Lee Abbott is not called the ‘Tank’ for anything

David Lee Abbott, the former UFC fighter, joined UFC 6 after his future manager, credited him for lifting 600lbs and dropping 4 people in a brawl. He has also faced legends like Kimbo Slice and Frank Mir in his fighting career.
