Jorge Masvidal thought that Anderson Silva was robbed

Masvidal captioned his post, “Wow… they did #AndersonSilva dirty”. He was evidently shocked by the results of this match. ‘Gamebred’ felt that ‘The Spider’ was declared as the loser in this fight incorrectly.

The bout between Silva and Paul ended in a victory for Paul via a unanimous decision by the judges. The fight was scored, 77-74 and 78-73 (twice) against the 47-year-old Silva.

The 47-year-old spider described in the pre-fight press conference, “When you fight in combat sports you have to be a little crazy. I’m a little crazy, too. This is not for everyone. Everyone here is special guys and for sure everyone here is a little crazy.” Very few would opt to step inside the boxing ring at 47 years of age, against a 24-year-old despite achieving all the success in the field of MMA.

Anderson Silva just wanted to put on a good show

Silva also said, “This is a competition and I’m training hard to make a great show for everyone. This fight is very special to me. I try to do my best because I love fighting and I love my job and now I’m free to do everything I like to do.”

After his loss to Jake Paul, he stated that, “I don’t believe this affects my legacy, in my journey in combat sports. I try to do my best to give something to the new generation.” He continued, “Jake and I are bringing two big generations together and people think this will affect my legacy or affect Jake’s legacy, but I don’t believe that because it’s about passion and love.” It was apparent that Silva was only worried about putting on a show for the fans irrespective of the result.

The coveted scrap between Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson in 2002 was when I realized the passion for combat sports within my family. My interest in combat sports began watching scripted pro wrestling shows. It was my father who directed me towards combat sports and it wasn’t until the late 2010s that I discovered the world of MMA and the UFC. Like many of you, I too, tuned in for the infamous Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor bout live on October 6, 2018.
