The news of Francis Ngannou entering a boxing ring against Tyson Fury has taken over the world of combat sports. ‘The Predator’ was recently released from his contract with the UFC and had to vacate his title as the heavyweight champion. However, the world apparently spun along in the Cameroonian’s favor.

Without a doubt, Ngannou has stayed on the topics of every discussion regarding MMA. Recently former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen spoke of the fighter’s ability in the squared ring. Although Sonnen was taken by shock by the fighter’s skill set, he previously expressed his exasperation over Ngannou’s sedentary behavior. The former champion stood inactive for about a year.

Surprisingly, Sonnen was left dumbfounded when he realized that Ngannou had seemingly mastered a skill that many of the heavyweight legends, like Mike Tyson and Sonny Liston, could not do.

The best trash talker in MMA recently revealed that he saw Ngannou sparring with Jerome le Banner. However, the way Ngannou moved seemingly took the former fighter by surprise. He initially refused to believe that it was Ngannou. However, the video spoke for itself. He said, “It wasn’t the punches. I’ve seen him punch. So have you. There was a calmness and there was a flow and there’s something called the pull.”

Sonnen declared that it was extremely rare for heavyweight fighters to perform a pull with such beauty and perfection. Only very advanced athletes can perform it. Sonnen revealed that only after a fighter mastered the bobs, weaves, and ducks, can he move towards mastering the pull.

Furthermore, he revealed that many fighters, like Floyd Mayweather, Roy Jones, Anderson Silva and Israel Adesanya can do a pull. He remarked Uriah Hall to be the master of the pull. However, the fact that it was extremely uncommon in the heavyweight category didn’t slip away.

Undeniably, the fact that Ngannou could perform such a trick impressed Sonnen. He said, “But it’s very rare for heavyweights… Tyson Fury cannot do it. Mike Tyson cannot do it. Joe Frazier and Sonny Liston couldn’t do it. Muhammad Ali could. Wasn’t the best I’ve seen but he could. Very rare for heavyweights. And Francis was doing the pull.”

Sonnen’s frustration also revolved around Ngannou’s inactiveness. Without a doubt, many of the fans as well as Dana White stood alongside Sonnen on this one.
