UFC Legend Michael Bisping Believes Tyson Fury Is Trying To Replicate Muhammad Ali’s Iconic Achievement With Francis Ngannou Fight

The crossover event between boxing and mixed martial arts is rumored to happen as Tyson Fury issued a challenge to Francis Ngannou. The ‘Gypsy King’ called out the former UFC heavyweight champion for a boxing match. Mixed martial artists fighting professional boxers is indeed one of the most exciting fights one could ever wish for. Without a doubt, the challenge pulled in many MMA enthusiasts. One among such enthusiasts was Michael Bisping, who took to his YouTube channel and talked about previous similar fights.

Undeniably, he couldn’t steer clear of Muhammad Ali’s fight against the Japanese, Antonio Inoki. Furthermore, he named a few more names who participated in such crossover matches. The ‘Count’ revealed his thoughts on how the fight between Fury and Ngannou might proceed. Bisping compared the crossover with that between Ali and Inoki, which ended in a draw. Although the rumors have been going around for a while now, the excitement the news carries is still the same.

Bisping posted a video on his YouTube channel where he seemed to be extremely excited to have Ngannou fight Fury. He recalled that there were several other examples where mixed martial artists fought against boxers. Without a doubt, the first pair of names that the former MMA contender uttered were none other than Ali and Inoki, who fought in 1976. Although a draw, the fight still carries a lot of heat and stories. Doubtlessly, Inoki’s fame rose to the next level after his performance against Ali. However, his passing in 2022, broke the fans’ hearts to a great extent.

Bisping recalled, “Let’s have a look at some of the old examples that happened like this. Because crossover fights have happened the, Muhammad Ali had won back in the day against [Antonio] Inoki.”

Furthermore, he clarified that Ngannou and Fury would fight in a boxing bout, not MMA.

Furthermore, he marked Fury as unpredictable. Although it would be a boxing match, he would still love an MMA contest between the two.

He said, “He is the ‘Gypsy King’. What are gypsies known for? Bare-knuckle boxing. And so he’s like you know what, this will be a homage, a throwback to my gypsy days, my gypsy brethren, the traveling community. I’m gonna put the small gloves on, I’m gonna fight in a cage, and I’m gonna take out the baddest man on the planet, Francis ‘The Predator’ Ngannou.”

The 34-year-old professional boxer issued a challenge to Ngannou. He made it seem like he was giving the former UFC heavyweight champion a chance to make some money, now that he was out of his contract with UFC.

Fury furthermore wished for Mike Tyson to be the referee of that fight. Nonetheless, the callout has excited Bisping to a great level. The challenge has also excited many combat sports fans.
