Rivalries are an integral part of MMA. They add an extra layer of excitement and anticipation to the sport, especially when the two fighters have a history of facing each other multiple times. One such rivalry that has captured the attention of MMA fans around the world is the one between Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo.

Brandon Moreno about Deiveson Figueiredo
In the interview, Moreno made it clear that the UFC will not give Figueiredo another chance to fight for the title. All of Figueiredo’s last four fights have been against the 29-year-old, and this is a rare sight in MMA. The Mexican also admitted that even he does not want to face Figueiredo for the fifth time. This is not because he is afraid of him, but because he believes it not to be a great idea.

“While I am still the champion, the UFC won’t give him (Figueiredo) a title shot anytime soon. I will avoid that fight at all costs. Not because I am afraid of him, but I believe after four fights, I have the right to say I am not afraid of him. But I think it’s ridiculous and nobody wants to see that.” said Moreno.

Moreno also discussed the Brazillian fighter’s future in the bantamweight division. Figueiredo has been called out by numerous bantamweight fighters, but Moreno does not believe his rival can prosper in the higher-weight division. “If you check the 135 lbs division, they are all beasts, and he won’t have the weight advantage he had in the flyweight. Bantamweight is a very hard division.” Even after the callouts, Figueiredo is currently in the flyweight division.
