Former UFC Flyweight Champion Brandon Moreno will face Amir Albazi at UFC Mexico on February 25, according to reports. Their bout will serve as the co-main event for the card and will be a five-round affair, according to the outlet ‘MMA Orbit’.

This would mark Moreno’s return to the octagon for the first time since he lost his title to Alexandre Pantoja in July this year. Moreno is one of Mexico’s biggest MMA stars and last fought in his home country back in 2019, fighting to a split draw against Askar Askarov.

Brandon Moreno vs. Amir Albazi may serve as title eliminator for Pantoja

#1 ranked Moreno had recently spoken about wanting to fight as soon as possible to wash the taste of defeat from his mouth. The Mexican had spoken about wanting to fight #3 ranked Albazi in December, but was also enthusiastic at the prospects of facing him in Mexico if December was not possible.

And with #2 ranked Flyweight Deiveson Figueiredo moving up to Bantamweight to take on Rob Font at UFC Fight Night Austin just hours from now, their bout will most probably serve as a virtual title eliminator.
