As per ‘ESPN‘, the fighter had to surrender his title because he was suspended for failing USADA tests. The suspension ended on January 2021. After it ended, he came back to the Octagon and defeated Sandhagen.

Dillashaw expected to get a title fight upon his return. But it unfortunately didn’t take place. However, Aljamain Sterling versus TJ Dillashaw is targeted for UFC 279 on September 10. Thus, the fight is expected to be a war.
