The heavyweight champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Francis Ngannou gained the heavyweight gold after defeating Stipe Miocic at UFC 260.

However, the Cameroonian fighter hasn’t entered the octagon since his last UFC fight. He would have fought against the former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones in a title bout. However, the fight didn’t happen due to official reasons.

‘The Predator’ has been waiting for a viable opponent since then. However, it looks like the wait is over for the heavyweight champion now, as he will defend his heavyweight gold in January 2022.

Ciryl Gane, who is fresh from his recent win over Derrick Lewis, became the first-ever UFC interim heavyweight champion. He will unify his interim belt with Francis Ngannou at UFC 270, per La Seur.

Although several people believe ‘The Predator’ should successfully defend his title against Gane, The Frenchman can offer a tough fight. Here is a preview of the most awaited heavyweight fight.

However, the Frenchman is a defensive fighter with a 100% takedown defense. But Ngannou is a more experienced fighter and had previously fought fighters with the same caliber as Gane. Ciryl has a 57% striking accuracy. He will have to find an early finish in the fight.

Ngannou might secure a decision win if the bout goes beyond three rounds, considering his experience and previous fights in the promotion. However, Gane lands 5.37 strikes per minute, which will give the Cameroonian a tough time inside the cage. All in all, it is going to be a tough fight and hard to predict, as both the fighters are some of the best in the division.
