An amazing new fight is in the making for the main event of the UFC Fight Night card on March 26. The former UFC champion Jan Blachowicz will return to the octagon to fight Aleksandar Rakic.

Current #1 in the UFC Light Heavyweight rankings, Jan Blachowicz lost his title back at UFC 267. Glover Teixeira beat him to become the new light heavyweight champion. This victory also made him the second oldest UFC champion in history. He accomplished this by choking out Blachowicz in the second round. This was a devastating loss for him, as Jan was coming from an enormous victory over Israel Adesanya.

Meanwhile, Aleksandar is #3 ranked in the division. The 29-year-old Austrian is coming from a victory over Thiago Santos at UFC 259. He won the bout with a unanimous decision. ‘Rocket’ is now on a two-win streak, making him a tough opponent.

This news was first broken by Ariel Helwani and later on confirmed by MMA junkie. UFC has not yet made the fight official.

Undoubtedly, this matchup will surely be a career-defining match for both. Recently, when Blachowicz was asked about fighting Rakic, he said, “It’s a good fight. He’s a strong, real fighter“.

Jan Blachowicz has been a professional fighter since 2007. Besides competing in the UFC, he also competed for KSW and is the former KSW Light Heavyweight Champion. The 38-old-polish fighter boasts has 28 victories under him with 9 upsets. He is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and an expert in Muay Thai. His grappling techniques are regarded best in the game.

Whereas his opponent Aleksandar Rakic is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The Austrian only has one loss in his entire 7 fight UFC career. It can be speculated that a win over Blachowicz will surely earn him the title shot.
