The City-Kickboxing star is an expert strategist who enters into a contest with several contingency plans in place. However, he’s also an extremely cerebral fighter, capable of making changes at the drop of a hat. Both these skills will be needed to dispose of the current version of Max Holloway.
‘Blessed’ competed twice in 2021 and arguably put on two back-to-back ‘Fight of the Year’ contender performances. He faced Calvin Kattar in January in what turned out to be a career-defining showcase that reinserted him into the title picture. He then rounded out the year against Yair Rodriguez in yet another violent display of raw talent from both men.
The main knock against Holloway is the insidious amounts of damage he has sustained thus far in his career. Volkanovski has always been a cautious operator and Holloway has been in multiple wars over the years. Fans are keen to see if the amount of damage he has absorbed catches up to him and hands ‘Volk’ a 3-0 series victory.
