Former two-time title challenger Brian Ortega made a triumphant return to the octagon at UFC Mexico. He defeated former interim champion Yair Rodriguez via submission in the third round. However, what grabbed attention was how Ortega took a dig at his ex-girlfriend Tracy Cortez, which later garnered reactions from fans on social media.

Brian Ortega had been out of action for over a year and a half. There were doubts about how he would fare against someone as good as Yair Rodríguez, returning from such a long layoff. But ‘T-City’ put those doubts to bed with the win. He then poured his heart out in the post-fight interview after his first win in over two years.

Following his win, Brian Ortega took the microphone and addressed the Mexican crowd. He shared some advice with them, which seemed like a jibe at Tracy Cortez. “God will bless you in front of the same wicked people who try to break you. Remember that,” said Ortega. What made this interesting was that Cortez was in attendance and he secured the statement win in front of her.

A believed that Ortega’s new partner may not be too hard on his money.

Ortega and Cortez began dating in 2020 and Cortez even appeared for Ortega’s fights multiple times to support him. Ortega also mentioned the relationship a few times in his interviews. The couple were engaged and were even planning to get married before things turned sour in 2o23. Rumors of their breakup started after Cortez removed all pictures of them together from her Instagram account, with Ortega doing the same.

Then in July last year, Brian Ortega posted on X where he addressed his split with Cortez and threw shade at her. He tweeted, “Everyone out here talking bout I fumbled. Y’all must not know the rules of the game. When you drop the ball on accident, that’s a fumble, but when you throw it away on purpose, that’s called a complete pass. Top G sh*t!”

Following his recent comments at UFC Mexico, one fan couldn’t believe that ‘T-City’ called Tracy Cortez “wicked.”

Meanwhile, a fan claimed that Cortez will now have to do better than Brian Ortega has after their breakup.

A fan was simply happy to see Brian Ortega happy with his family.
