Yesterday, in Rizin 43, one fighter blurred the boundaries between fighting scenes from the movies and in the real world. A matchup between Congolese fighter Daryl Lokoku and Brazilian MMA fighter Minoru Kimura gave fans an early weekend treat.

The Japanese MMA promotion took place in Sapporo, Japan. Few fans could have anticipated what they witnessed at the bout in the catchweight division at 161 lbs. Later reactions from the fans summed up their feelings about the fight.

Fans were shocked at the brutal knockout by Minoru Kimura

The bout between Minoru Kimura and Daryl Lokoku terrified kickboxing lovers, as Kimura stunned the fans with a brutal left hook. When the bout reached one minute and nine seconds into the first round, the Brazilian landed a powerful left hook on Lokoku. The strike left the boxer in a frozen state, unable to move. However, the debutant at the Rizin kickboxing ring was not done with his thirst to win; he landed one more punch at his opponent.

Lokoku’s lights were out, and he fell to the ground. The referee soon understood that Lokoku’s condition was quite severe. He soon called for medical help. The footage of the knockout found its way to Twitter, and fans could not believe their eyes.

Another fan detailed the brutal incident from the perspective of Lokoku. After receiving a brutal left hook, he put his hands down and stood in pain. However, even after that, Kimura landed another punch straight to his face, which resulted in Lokoku losing ground and falling down.

Kimura has faced a number of tough fighters in his combat sports career, including Kaew Fairtex and Hideaki Yamazaki. He has been unapologetically brutal in some of his fights, including at Rizin 43. Hence, one of the fans called him a “beast.”

After getting knocked out, Kimura’s opponent stood like a wax statue. He was unable to move his body after being punched so hard in the face. This made a fan comment about the time being “frozen.”

One of the Twitter users felt that Lokoku’s condition was so terrible that he almost died while standing straight.
