MMA is one of the most physical combat sports out there. It is almost inevitable to avoid getting hurt during fights. However, UFC megastar Conor McGregor provided unusual advice to deal with pain to one of his teammates in ‘The Ultimate Fighter’. Fans have shared their reactions to it on social media.

Conor McGregor’s TUF team has been unsuccessful in registering a win in the 31st season so far. Three of his prospects have lost to Michael Chandler‘s veteran fighters and have gone down 3-0 in the show so far. However, a recent video clip from the third episode has gone viral on social media.

Conor McGregor shared advice regarding how to deal with pain

Before his fight against Austin Hubbard, which he lost, Aaron McKenzie was involved in a training session with Conor McGregor. Moreover, during a sparring session, McKenzie got hit with a nasty body kick to which ‘Notorious’ provided him with a suggestion to deal with the pain. McGregor advised him to think that the pain is not anything to worry about. He said, “Tell yourself. It ain’t nothing.” 

Then he provided McKenzie with a way to deal with pain. He asked the lightweight fighter to throw the pain away. McGregor added, “Put your hands on – there’s the pain, the pain’s here.” He continued, “Put your hands, close your eyes [and] feel where the pain is.” After telling him to feel where the pain lies in his body, the former double champion asked McKenzie to bring out the pain in the palm of his hand and throw it away like a stone. “Feel yourself grabbing it out of there… it’s no longer here. Now you can actually feel the pain here… then just get f***ing rid of it.”

Fans react to McGregor’s advice regarding pain

A fan questioned McGregor’s pain-dealing advice and recalled how he tapped out multiple times in his career.

Another fan took a jibe at Conor McGregor and wondered why he didn’t continue fighting Dustin Poirier after his leg was busted at UFC 264.

It isn’t unusual to see Conor McGregor give such an extraordinary take on dealing with pain. He is well-known for those kinds of comments. However, his TUF 31 journey hasn’t been the best and his team would look to register their first win in the competition as he prepares for his comeback fight against Michael Chandler.
