And while Khamzat Chimaev had a resounding outing inside the Octagon against Kevin Holland, his actions ahead of the contest were questioned by the likes of former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Nurmagomedov’s comments about ‘Borz’ not having ‘good people’ around him were returned with a firm statement from Chimaev’s teammate and friend Darren Till.

The Liverpudlian did not hold back while responding to the Russian-born athlete’s remarks about Khamzat Chimaev’s corner.

Darren Till questioned Khabib Nurmagomedov’s statements
In an interview with ESPN MMA, former UFC welterweight title challenger said, “I seen Khabib like sort of like saying Khamzat doesn’t have good people around him. Now, I get it. I like get the Muslim faith in that… I don’t know if he’s directing at me or someone in Khamzat’s other team, like coaches, teammates, whatever. There’s a few of us who aren’t Muslim.”

Darren Till added he has got ‘Khamzat’s best interest’ and was even ready to take all the blame if that helped his friend. ‘The Gorilla’ also advised Chimaev to welcome the ‘hate’ from fans.
“You’re the Joker, the batman. You’re the evil guy. So, just embrace it,” said Till.

After describing the incident with Nate Diaz and UFC President Dana White, and Hunter Cambell’s involvement during the scuffle before the UFC 279 press conference, ‘The Gorilla’ came back to mock ‘The Eagle’.

“Khabib’s missed weight, like five times, man. Like he’s got good people around him. We are not coming out saying [the same thing].”

“Just because me and Khamzat have a bit of fun on camera… does that mean that I’m not good people or his coaches aren’t good peoples? Like his Brazilian coach is one of the best grapplers of all time, he’s not Muslim. Does that mean he’s bad peoples?”
While saying he respects the Dagestan-born athlete for his work inside and outside the Octagon, Till continued, “I just don’t respect him coming out with comments like that.”

Till reminded Khabib Nurmagomedov of Khamzat Chimaev’s success
Afterward, the middleweight fighter, who has been finding it tough to make it to the Octagon, praised the Swede while reminding Nurmagomedov of his UFC 279 performance.

“You can’t start coming out like that… How does he not have good people around him? Look what he has just done to Kevin Holland. He just absolutely mauled Kevin.”
“Do you think that’s just all Khamzat since he was a kid? He just don’t know that he’s got people around him helping.”
