Bruce Buffer Brushes Away Retirement Talk at 25th Anniversary

Bruce Buffer, the American octagon announcer for the UFC, completed 25 years with the promotion at UFC 258. He received a special tribute from the UFC and sat down in an interview following the event.
He answered questions about his time with the UFC and also talked about the incredible tribute he received.
‘The Veteran Voice Of The Octagon’ said, “It feels amazing cause this is a huge honor for me. You know how passionate I am for being the voice of the octagon, working for Dana, and for all the powers that be at the UFC. I love it, and my passion just keeps getting stronger. I wish I had another 25 years who knows because I am ready to rock-and-roll for 25 more.”

Buffer thanked UFC for the beautiful tribute they presented him with and said that he didn’t expect that. He claimed that it caught him like a side shot to the head and labeled it as beautiful.

He also shared an anecdote about the time he first got involved with the UFC. He realized that this would be the most significant thing in fighting sports and in sports as a whole.
“That’s why I stuck with it; when you stick with something, when I set a goal, I stick with it till the end. I’m a loyal soldier; I wanted to do everything I could way beyond being the voice of the octagon and the octagon announcer for the UFC because I love the organization, I love this sport, and I love the honor of announcing these female and male octagon warriors,” he said.

Buffer praised his job for helping him make new friendships with his colleagues, fighters, and the media. Subsequently, he revealed that his retirement would not be coming anytime soon.
The veteran announcer said that he would depart when his passion starts to fade away, which doesn’t seem like a possibility right now. It means that the fans get to witness an icon of the UFC for several more years, and no one could be more grateful.
