The UFC 291 main event featured a Lightweight bout between Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje, where Gaethje won and claimed the BMF title. However, there was another fight that fans were excited about- the co-main event between former UFC Middleweight champion Alex Pereira and former Light Heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz. The co-main event was the first Light Heavyweight fight for Pereira and his win over Jan Blachowicz was a surprise for many.
The fight promised to be a barnburner on paper but fell flat inside the cage. The grappling-heavy approach from Blachowicz did not impress many. Meanwhile, a cautious but daring Pereira did just enough to get the win. However, the Polish steamroller seemed quite unhappy with the decision and wasted no time in voicing his contempt.

Jan Blachowicz accuses the UFC of robbing him of a victory
When Alex Pereira accepted the fight against Jan Blachowicz, many expected the outcome of the fight would be somewhat similar to when Israel Adesanya fought the light heavyweight. However, Pereira surprised everyone as he put up a great fight and ended up taking the win. Blachowicz did not seem convinced that Pereira had actually beaten him and posted a picture on Instagram with a caption that summarized how he felt about the decision.

“Bunch of thieves, they robbed me. Anyway, thank you all for your support. I’ll be back #LegendaryPolishPower,” read the caption. According to Blachowicz, the judges unfairly ruled the fight in favor of Pereira.
Now that Pereira has entered the UFC Light Heavyweight division by making a huge statement, fans are wondering if a title shot awaits the Brazilian. Many fans speculated a trilogy bout between him and Adesanya if he captures the 205 lbs belt. However, ‘Poatan’ poured water over those rumors in the post-fight presser.
