Besides some action-packed fights, the heated altercation between UFC lightweights Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler was also a topic of discussion at last weekend’s UFC 276 in Las Vegas. As seen in the viral video, the two exchanged verbal jabs. However, the UFC security separated them before things could turn violent.

Apart from official event personnel, newly crowned light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka was also present at the scene. ‘Denisa’, who was next to ‘The Diamond’ during the heated exchange, even helped separate the fighters.

“I was closest to as I can next to Dustin,” Prochazka said while talking about the incident with Helen Yee. 

“And he started to be aggressive to talk some trash talks and all these stuff for the Michael. And they start to talk together. Nothing was surprise for me. But I saved them,” Prochazka jokingly said.

The rivalry between ‘The Diamond’ and ‘Iron’ is not new. The two have previously taken verbal jabs at each other in several of their interviews. Now, this altercation opens a window for fans to speculate a blockbuster lightweight match-up between them.

From taking a jibe at each other in interviews to confronting the other during an event, Poirier and Chandler have done it all. The only thing left for them is to take this beef inside the UFC cage. Both of them have lost against the former champion Charles Oliveira in an attempt to gain the UFC lightweight gold (UFC 262 and UFC 269).
