Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov had a weird connection during the UFC Hall of Fame ceremony. The 10-year-anniversary of International Fight Week as usual had a Hall of Fame ceremony. ‘The Eagle‘ headlined this year’s event as he, Daniel Cormier, Cub Swanson vs. Dooho Choi, and Giga Chikadze received the ultimate honor. But some fans noticed Conor McGregor’s virtual presence during the show and it turned some heads.

The Irishman also picked it on; The one half of the never-ending rivalry, ‘Mr. Whiskey‘ posted a picture of him with the Proper 12 Irish Whiskey advertisement appearing on screen while Khabib Nurmagomedov was on stage to receive the prestigious honor.

In his Instagram post, ‘The Notorious‘ captioned it, “Proper Twelve, proud maker of the ufc hof show! Call me The HOFF  @properwhiskey”

McGregor often reacts to the big UFC fight night events and posts, clips, and snaps, but this is one of the first times he has taken a dig at a UFC Hall of Famer. But then again, it’s none other than his bitter rival with whom he had the iconic UFC 229 matchup, which still remains the highest-selling PPV for the UFC ever.

Ever since their first contest, there were expectations from fans that looking at the success of the first bout, UFC President Dana White could entertain the second bout between these two. Also, McGregor claimed he had some injuries going into the bout. Thus, a rematch appeared a possibility until the lightweight king retired at UFC 254 after putting on a dominant show against Justin Gaethje.

The self-proclaimed ‘The Face of the Fight Game’ has never missed an opportunity to take a dig at the former undefeated & UFC lightweight champion. And his appearance in the Hall of Fame is something the fans instantly got a kick for when it transpired. And for some reason, the promotion had this mix-up.

Will Khabib Nurmagomedov respond to Conor McGregor’s post? Or has he completely set his foot off the competitive peddle inside the Octagon? That’s only for Nurmagomedov to figure out. Meanwhile, the fans could only hope for a back and forth which perhaps lead to a big blockbuster event. Although, it seems a dream rather than reality considering the Dagestan-born’s affirmative take on retirement.
