Imagine this: You’re the pound-for-pound king of boxing, and as the camera pans to you at a UFC event, you’re suddenly Kendrick Lamar. That’s exactly what Terence Crawford experienced during UFC 306. Former UFC bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling joined in the chorus of jokes flying around the internet as he posted on X, “Terence Crawford evolved into Kendrick Lamar tonight.”

In a statement made to TMZ Sports after the moment went viral, Crawford shared that he didn’t notice the blunder until his phone started blowing up with pictures and jokes by the fans. He further shared that, “…to be honest, I think it was intentionally done. Just for laughter, because how can you get us mixed up? But all in all, it was funny to me.

UFC CEO Dana White’s response? In a hilarious move, the UFC boss responded by stating, “I hear you Champ – Joe Rogan. In case you’re wondering why the Rogan mention, in the past White and the UFC color commentator have been frequently mistaken for one another. The light-hearted interaction shows that there’s no hard feelings from either side for the mix-up. After all, at the UFC 306 post-fight press conference, the UFC head honcho readily admitted that his plans for a “flawless” night of fights took a bump!

Before the UFC 306 event went down, Dana White had pulled out all the stops for the spectacular show at ‘The Sphere’. “…we’re going to try to pull off one of the greatest things you’ve ever seen on TV, too.” White had proclaimed and the show definitely lived up to the hype, except for one little mistake that caused a flood of reactions from the MMA sphere.

The Kendrick Lamar-Terence Crawford switch had caused a frenzy amongst the viewers of the broadcast. At the UFC 306 post-fight press conference, White jokingly responded by stating, “He did kind of look like Kendrick Lamar, though let’s not f*** around, he did kind of look like Kendrick Lamar. So when I said we had a flawless production tonight, I take that back, there was one that was bad, yeah!”
