Yes, Kelvin Gastelum added another instance of missing weight ahead of this weekend’s Mexican Independence Day event. Well, the stage was set for the official weigh-ins, and his slated opponent, Dustin Stoltzfus, made it to 185.5 pounds, which is under the non-title fight limit. But when Gastelum, who was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame while still active, stepped onto the scale, he did not even weigh in the 171 to 186 lb range.

In fact, the 33-year-old ended up weighing in at 191 pounds, which was 5 lbs over the limit. When the official read out his weight, Kelvin Gastelum showed no emotion, but it would not be wrong to assume that he was disappointed in himself. However, this is the fifth time he’s missed weight during his entire UFC run, and as such, there is a chance that Dana White may not take this too kindly.

Fans urge Dana White to cut Kelvin Gastelum

Kelvin Gastelum’s repeated weight misses, which are more than any other fighter on the UFC roster, have led people to believe that he may not be taking his duties as a UFC fighter seriously. While calling him out for his unprofessionalism, a fan tweeted, “He’s flipping them off in their faces doing this lol.”

Moreover, the way he missed weight looked absolutely horrible to some people. They believe that he may not have tried hard during the weight-cutting process, as another fan wrote, “Sorry, but time to cut Gastelum. This is a disgusting weight miss.” They don’t seem to have any sympathy for the mistake Gastelum made, as fans want him out of the UFC.

A couple of fans wrote, “At this point, he’s just asking to get cut,” and “I think this will be it for him,” as they are certain that Dana White could take a bold measure against Kelvin Gastelum. But then again, a fan mentioned that Gastelum has issues with eating disorders.

Well, he has never confirmed this, but a history of missing weights does not bode well for a professional fighter, even if they’ve been part of some of the best fights ever. “Such a shame that he has eating disorder issues that continue to plague his career because he has been involved in so many great fights. At least this wasn’t a fight that anyone was particularly asking for… but yeah — I’d say cut him at this point, sadly,” the fan wrote on X.

Meanwhile, a fan mentioned another fighter who recently got cut for missing weight, Bryan Battle. He believes Dana White could pair them up for a matchup. Gastelum missed weight again make him fight [Bryan Battle].” However, Battle is now competing in the Dirty Boxing Championship, and so, another fan suggested Gastelum leave the UFC for that promotion and fight the former UFC fighter. “Looking forward to his DBX debut.”
