There’s a running joke in the UFC that fighters involved with the rapper Drake are touted to lose their fights. The joke began after fighters began losing after posting pictures with the rapper or somehow being acquainted with him. That being said, Khamzat Chimaev might be next in line for the curse now.

UFC 273 is a highly anticipated card for most of the MMA world. One of the most promising fighters in the UFC, Khamzat Chimaev, posted a story of him receiving merchandise before his fight from none other than Drake’s lifestyle company ‘October’s Very Own.

Drake has officially cursed my man Khamzat,” tweeted user @FloristGriffin. The joke is still in fashion, with people making the rapper a scapegoat if the fighter were to lose in his match.

The joke emanated when UFC superstar Conor McGregor posted a picture with Drake. Following this, he lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov in the most publicized fight of the UFC.

Can Khamzat Chimaev Break the Chain of superstition?

Although the ‘Curse’ has been broken before by the likes of heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury, the UFC roster involved with Drake is yet to do it. ‘The Borz‘ is being hyped as one of the most dominant fighters in the division.

A national champion in freestyle wrestling, Chimaev’s reach and build might be a little too much for Gilbert Burns. This is because the Brazilian is a lot smaller in size. Despite being more experienced than Chimaev, Burns lacks physical advantage, giving the Russian a critical edge.

If Chimaev were to lose despite all the advantages, fans keeping aside the heartbreak might point fingers at the rapper for his involvement, which turns the fighter’s luck topsy-turvy.
