UFC fighters are often the most violent people inside the octagon. Their ferocious fighting style makes the fans believe that they are tough inside and out. However, there are several instances where fighters proved that they were ready to come out of their octagon persona and do good to society. One such fighter who is always ready to come forward to bring a smile to his fans’ faces is Dustin Poirier. Presently, Poirier is one of the top UFC fighters who has made a name for himself in the UFC.
Poirier recently went for a wholesome move to make his cancer-stricken 17-year-old fan happy. The former UFC interim lightweight champion came to know about a young fan named Alden Cary, who has battled cancer. One of Cary’s biggest dreams was to meet his idol, Dustin Poirier, in person.’The Diamond’, who uses his free time to do something good for the community, made sure that he didn’t disappoint his young fan.

When Dustin Poirier came to know about Cary’s wish, He went on to meet the 17-year-old. Poirier, along with the American Top Team Florida, spent some quality time with Cary. It was Canadian-American journalist Ariel Helwani who first reported the incident. Helwani wrote, “Make-A-Wish recently granted a wish to Alden Cary, a 17-year-old from Davidson, North Carolina that has battled cancer. His wish was to meet Dustin Poirier. Dustin and other members of ATT spent the day with Alden recently.”

He is known for his charity work. Poirier is a part of The Good Fight Foundation, which helps people who suffer from various fatal diseases, including cancer.

Dustin Poirier is getting ready to go for a rematch against Justin Gaethje at UFC 291. The winner between ‘The Highlight’ and ‘The Diamond’ will be crowned the new BMF champion of the promotion. The bout is set to take place on July 29 at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. Poirier’s last bout was at UFC 281, where he faced the former three-time Bellator lightweight champion, Michael Chandler.
