Recently, a Twitter/X video showcased Pereira’s active involvement in relief efforts within the favela where he grew up. This community had endured heavy rainfall and severe destruction, leaving many families without shelter. Pereira’s compassionate actions came as a surprise to many, revealing a kinder side of the fighter known as ‘Poatan.’

Alex Pereira, the former UFC middleweight champion, initiated a donation campaign to aid in the relief and rebuilding efforts. In a video shared by BloodyElbow on Twitter, Pereira could be seen delivering food baskets to affected families too.

The video highlighted the Fazendinha neighborhood in Batistini, Sao Paulo, significantly affected by the continuous heavy rainfall in recent months. The shacks that served as homes for residents were mostly destroyed, and given the economic conditions of the region, rebuilding was a challenge for many families.
