The card literally got better. Didn’t think it was possible. Love Oliveira but volk is more interesting due to the last fight being more controversial. Costa would have gotten smothered by khamzat as well.

Why did the Paulo Costa vs. Khamzat Chimaev fight fall apart?

Paulo Costa was determined to face the Russian Wolf, Khamzat Chimaev, and things were going well. Costa even flew to Abu Dhabi with a month in hand. However, things started to go downhill when Costa sustained an elbow injury. Despite this, the fighter stated that it was minor and that he would not be pulling out of his fight against Chimaev. After discussions with his doctors and team members, it initially looked like he would compete on October 21st.

Regrettably, recent developments indicate that Costa will not be able to participate in the fight. This has created a challenging situation for both the UFC and Khamzat Chimaev. That elbow injury turned into a staph infection which required immediate medical attention. Things got even worse when the infection developed into a bursitis infection, and Costa had to undergo immediate surgery. And Costa was left completely out of action.

With  Paulo Costa and Charles Oliveira pulling out due to injuries, Dana White did his best to gather backup fighters such as Alex Volkanovski and Kamaru Usman. And it might just be a boon in the end! What’s your opinion on UFC 294? Do tell us in the comments below
