Dana White’s decision to slot in Alex Volkanovski against Makhachev and Kamaru Usman against Khamzat Chimaev not only rescued the card from potential cancellation but also managed to elevate it. This is, of course, according to fans who found the revised lineup even more appealing than the original one.

A lot unfolded as Khamzat Chimaev and Islam Makhachev secured resounding triumphs over their new opponents. The new matchups were thrilling as they pit some of the deadliest fighters against each other. Consequently, this demanded a lot of money.

Regarding earnings from the event for the fighters, the total amount generated was an impressive $13 million+, with Makhachev leading the way with a substantial payout of $4.2 million. Alexander Volkanovski followed closely, securing $3.3 million, and not far behind was Khamzat Chimaev, who received $2.85 million. Kamaru Usman also earned a respectable sum of $2.4 million.

Several other fighters who fought at UFC 294 earned quite a sum. Said Nurmagomedov took home an impressive $195,000, closely followed by Muhammad Mokaev, who secured a substantial $160,000.
