However, his boxing plans didn’t work out according to his expectations, and now Ngannou plans to get back to fighting inside the cage.

Chael Sonnen claims Francis Ngannou has made an agreement with the PFL

‘The American Gangster’ recently provided a huge update about the former UFC champion’s MMA future. He said that Ngannou has come to an agreement with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) and will soon find himself fighting inside the smart cage. Sonnen tweeted, “BREAKING NEWS: Bellator never submitted an offer to Francis. PFL and Francis have come to an agreement. I cannot assure you that Francis is ever going to compete again, but if he does, it will be in the smart cage.”

Chael Sonnen also claimed that Ngannou never received any offers from Bellator, despite several rumors and speculations. Scott Coker even mentioned that there was a 50-50 chance that ‘The Predator’ may end up fighting for his promotion. But Sonnen has doubled down on his claim that Ngannou might consider fighting only in the PFL.

‘The Predator’ turned down a $20 million offer

The CEO of ONE Championship, Chatri Sityodtong, appeared in an exclusive interview with ‘The Daily Star’ and claimed that Francis Ngannou turned down an offer from his promotion that included a $20 million deal. He also mentioned that there were some other non-financial aspects of the deal, which did not make much sense to his promotion.

The Predator’s last fight took place more than a year ago at UFC 272. He underwent knee surgery after that and tried to negotiate a new deal with the UFC, but it did not work out for him. He will be hoping to hop back inside the cage before his value as a fighter starts to declines.
