It’s nothing new that Conor McGregor stated that he wanted to return to the octagon ever since his leg broke in UFC 264. What was surprising is that the Irishman now wants to make his return to the octagon by challenging Kamaru Usman for the UFC welterweight title.
With MMA personalities and fans weighing in on this statement, UFC color commentator Joe Rogan has warned Conor McGregor that he might get what he’s asking for. However, former UFC middleweight Chael Sonnen seems to be perplexed as to why Rogan gave the warning in the first place.
Chael Sonnen posted a video on his YouTube talking about Rogan’s warning.

Chael Sonnen on Joe Rogan’s word of caution
While talking about Rogan’s warning, Sonnen stated, “Joe Rogan was talking about Conor McGregor’s call out of Kamaru Usman, and Joe said, and I quote the old adage, ‘Be careful what you asked for because you just might get it.’ Now, why?”
He continued, “Joe went on to answer his own question, he talked about how great Usman is, he talked about Usman is the greatest to be doing it right now… That Usman’s a true welterweight that Conor used to be a 45 pounder, all of these things are very valid. We’re stating the obvious. There’s nothing new here.”
He further added, “Why should Conor be careful?… What is it that Kamaru Usman or anybody for that matter can bring to the octagon that Conor McGregor hasn’t seen?… Why should anyone be careful what they’re asking for when what they’re asking for is an opportunity to take on the baddest man in the world? How would that not be praised?”

Chael Sonnen believes that Joe Rogan is wrong for thinking that Conor McGregor should proceed with caution against Kamaru Usman.
He highlighted the facets of being a fighter and that there’s nothing that Usman can bring into the game that the Irishman hasn’t seen before.
