Dana White, the ever-scheming maestro behind the UFC’s wild ride, knows just how to whip the fans into a frenzy. Last night, in a classic display of his tantalizing promotional tactics, White dropped a bombshell that had everyone buzzing: Conor McGregor is gearing up for a comeback. With his trademark grin and a twinkle in his eye, White teased, “We talked about Conor today. We’ve got Conor news coming up. We’ve got Oliveira news coming up, Chandler news coming up, Max Holloway news coming up—all that good sh-t coming soon.

This announcement threw a curveball at everyone. Just days before, White had shut down rumors of any open slots for the rest of the year. Yet here he was, stirring the pot and hinting at a potential blockbuster lineup that could shake up the UFC landscape.

Enter Chael Sonnen, the former UFC fighter and current master of speculation, who wasted no time dissecting White’s cryptic words. Sonnen zeroed in on the mention of Max Holloway, who’s deep in preparation to take on featherweight phenom Ilia Topuria. On his YouTube channel, Sonnen pointed out the UFC’s possible game of smoke and mirrors. He reminded fans of the swirling rumors around the Holloway-Topuria bout—first thought to be set for ‘Noche,’ then supposedly confirmed for Salt Lake City, and then, with another twist, speculated to happen in Abu Dhabi.

Now Dana says he’s got news on Holloway,” Sonnen mused, raising eyebrows and adding fuel to the fire of speculation. Is the UFC orchestrating a grand spectacle, or is this all just part of White’s genius plan to keep everyone guessing? As usual in the UFC, nothing is as it seems, and every word is a potential game-changer.

‘The American Gangster’s’ speculation could be correct or incorrect. He also suggested that Dana White might have made a mistake, saying, “If he misspoke, which I would assume is most likely, but what if he didn’t?” Previously, it was reported that Alexander Volkanovski would fight the winner of the Max Holloway- Ilia Topuria match, a detail later confirmed by Volkanovski himself. This raises the possibility that White could have made an error regarding the news about Holloway’s fight.

Alexander Volkanovski on his return to the Octagon

Former featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski is taking a break from the sport after losing his title to Ilia Topuria earlier this year in a knockout that affected him more mentally than physically. In a recent interview with Sky Sports Network, ‘The Great’ discussed his hiatus. When asked about his return, ‘The Great’ said, “I told them I wanted the break I’ve been having. So I wanted to fight probably later in the year, and they [UFC] said they might be doing that [Topuria-Holloway] and I thought it would have been a little bit earlier…So everything’s probably going to get pushed back a few, a couple of months further.”

Further ‘The Great’ shows intention to consider moving to the lightweight division. He said, “I could have maybe done a lightweight fight, I think. There are a lot of exciting fights there, but you know, the UFC aren’t big fans of floating…and then I might lose that featherweight title shot.” Earlier, Volkanovski moved up the lightweight division twice to face division king Islam Makhachev; however, those decisions turned into nightmares for him.
