What happened in the fight?
Round 1 started with both fighters looking for their striking to do the talking. But soon Brunson took the rising South African fighter down with a takedown. Furthermore, after a grappling session between the two, both fighters engaged in a leg lock on each other. ‘The One’ also threw some strikes, which caught the African fighter.
Round 2 started with Du Plessis looking to gain momentum. Both fighters engaged in some good boxing. There were some significant strikes thrown by the fighters. Moreover, the exciting round saw both fighters go toe to toe with each other as the fans and even the commentators were left on the edge of their seats.
Lastly, Brunson‘s corner threw in the towel at the end of round 2. The referee in charge, Herb Dean, was praised by Joe Rogan for stopping the fight at the right time. Furthermore, Du Plessis enjoyed another win in the UFC.
