Charles Jourdain is one of the most interesting fighters on the UFC 297 card. Apart from his interesting way of taking the fight to his opponents, he also has an interesting approach to the way he motivates himself. Jourdain loves to bring out the warrior within himself and represent the spirit through tattoos.

Jourdain has a stunning gallery of ink on his body. Whether it’s his brilliant Odin tattoo on his throat or the Gorilla on his arm. One could go over and over and still be awed. So, let’s take a good look at some of his tattoos and try to understand what they mean.

Charles Jourdain once said in a press conference that he’s sacrificing his health for the sport, which is absolutely correct. This is when he was asked about his neck piece. “It’s Odin, the All father. I got a Samurai, I want all sorts of warriors, representation of warriors on my skin from different eras.”

He explained how Odin sacrificed his eye for knowledge just like Jourdain himself sacrifices his health for the battles sport. It also explains his Samurai tattoo. Moreover, he has a massive moon and what looks like a wolf on either sides of his chest. Perhaps it’s referencing a werewolf. A man that becomes a monster when the full moon arrives. There’s also a paw on the moon, perhaps referencing a pet.

Perhaps Jourdain too turns into an animal once he’s inside the cage. Moreover, he has a tattoo that says “A fighter sacrifices everything to follow his dream.” Written in Thai right under his chest. He also has a gorilla tattoo on his arm, much like Conor McGregor‘s chest piece.

Jourdain’s tattoos are brilliant. Perhaps they help him win his fights too. He is coming off two back to back wins from the year 2023. Will he be able to continue winning with UFC 297? His opponent is none other than Sean Woodson. Will he prove to be his first loss in 2024?

Who’s likely to win the bout?

‘Air’ Jourdain might just have the favor of the bet makers. He’s favored at around -120 odds and this could fluctuate. Either way, he’s still the favorite. Perhaps it has to do with his history and record. He is 15-6-1 in his professional career. A solid record for certain. However, Woodson is equally impressive. Perhaps, even more.

Sean Woodson brings in his might with a record of 10-1-1. He is presented with odds of about +170 for his featherweight bout against Charles Jourdain. Jourdain himself was nicknamed ‘Air’ for his flashy style of going into an aggressive attack. He could land an insane spin kick to take down Woodson. But only time can tell who will win. What are your predictions?
