Michael Chiesa returned to the Octagon after two years. His comeback, however, did not turn out in his favor. The 35-year-old came to the fight hoping to put an end to his losing streak. But Kevin Holland showcased great grit and defeated ‘Maverick’ in the very first round of the fight. The fans believe that it might be time for Chiesa to leave the sport.
Michael Chiesa was already on a 2-fight losing streak before heading into his fight against Kevin Holland. Moreover, he came back after a two-year hiatus as well. He was earlier scheduled to fight at UFC 287, but that got canceled due to his opponent getting injured. So a little of ring rust was expected by many since ‘Trailblazer’ has fought three times in the last ten months or so.

One fan praised Kevin Holland for the finish but was clearly upset with Chiesa, claiming that he looked nervous inside the Octagon.
Very disappointing end for Chiesa, very good finish for Holland to get himself in the rankings. Hard to be more convincing that that. Chiesa just looked nervous and stiff.
Honestly might be it for him. I just don't see a path to champ for him.— HorizonCast (@HorizonCasts) July 30, 2023
Some believe that ‘Maverick’ may not have much time left as a fighter.
